The Fiddler’s Forum – Season 1, Ep. 03 – Music For Every Occasion, The True Story of the DePue Family Musicians

The Fiddler’s Forum, with your host, American violinist Alex DePue, moves on with the new podcast series, introducing to listeners what has been the history for Alex DePue and his entire family of violin carrying soldiers of music. Meet the Cast:

Dr. Wallace DePue, Sr. – Dad
Linda (Kallman) DePue – Mom I
Elaine (Markopoulos) DePue – Mom II
Dr. Wallace DePue, Jr. – Son I
Alexander Paul DePue – Son II
Jason Micah DePue – Son III
Zachary Jon DePue – Son IV
Richard Mathey, Family friend and Director of Choral Studies at Bowling Green State University

This week, episode three, includes the documentary, in full, straight from the Director’s desk (Shawn Brady). This production was then ripped from the DVD, and re-mastered at OVNI Studios in Ensenada, Mexico; Now available worldwide in digital form to become preserved here on YouTube for ages to come.

The PBS Emmy-Award winning documentary, “Music For Every Occasion – The True Story of the DePue Family Musicians”, began its run at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) and the WBGU-TV audiences there, locally. The documentary quickly showed promise for National exposure, with Director Shawn Brady at the helm, demonstrating his own prowess through excellent story-telling, and scripted narrative, beautifully performed by James Dumke.

The documentary’s story features the DePue Family Musicians, now more popularly known as “The DePue Brothers”, and does not skip any detail. From the more personal side of the brothers’ lives as musicians, all the way to the demise of their mother, Linda DePue, the documentary leaves in its wake, thought-provoking concern for the family on a personal level, and leads its audience toward future celebrations the family would then encounter – the most notable of which, being deemed “Musical Family of the Year” by then-President, George H. Bush through direct communication from the White House.

The Mainly Mozart Festival strikes again with this new performance from those DANG fiddle-sawin' DePue Brothers. With Zachary DePue on the lead fiddle, Alex DePue close behind, and with Ranaan Meyer & Joshua Fobare as the basso continuo, the group is flawless.Maybe you can help us remember which opus or number this particular duet was labeled by Antonio Vivaldi? We only have ever called it, "The Vivaldi"...fb.watch/838QXqrTxh/ ... See MoreSee Less

This is none other than Ranaan Meyer's "Ogden", I believe originally written for two violins and double bass, here performed by the Mainly Mozart Festival Band, adding drums and Joshua Fobare's piano, along with some zest from iron-lipped trumpeter, Conrad Jones. We have some of the greatest hot-shots to ever comprise ANY band, including: :)@Matt Scarano - drumsRanaan Meyer - double bassJoshua Fobare - piano / B3 organ / voxConrad Jones - trumpet / flugelhornAlex DePue - violin / guitar / voxZachary DePue - band leader / violin / voxMainly Mozart Festival Band.
