THIS happened… our new LIVE series from Punta Banda, MEXICO! “Music From The Underground”… we explain further:
More information at:

Violinist Alex DePue’s latest series of ongoing videos featuring new and wildly hot musical performances each week! From those “BIG NAME ACTS” who stop through the area to say hello to The Fiddler, all the way to his own “home-grown” mix of super-musicians, as the “La Marina House Band”, DePue’s “Music From The Underground” proves to become a most-talked-about series, featuring over the top talent doing what it is they do best… each, in the peak of their prowess on his/her instrument.

This caliber of cats is so good they belong in a ZOO, and only afforded to be admired by audience members from a safe distance. Instead, we get to hear this band develop from day ONE, through this eclectic mix of performance videos, lifted directly from those live appearances at DePue’s home venue, La Marina Restaurant at The Baja Cove in Punta Banda, Mexico… up close and personal.

THIS? Is still show one… their FIRST public appearance!

Please like and subscribe to this channel… RING THAT BELL so that you get a notification each time The Fiddler – Alex DePue releases new content. Be the first to witness groundbreaking performances from an ever-growing cast of formidable musicians, including:

Sam Johnson, double bass
Pavel Cortez, piano
Abraham Lizardo, drums

And Special Guest, actress Aria Noelle Curzon, joins the new band, singing a tried and true libretto from the famous musical, “Phantom of the Opera” called, “All I Ask of You”. A healthy Broadway belter, and in this case, operatic Soprano, Miss Curzon makes the band sound great, and also MUCH more attractive!

Special Thanks to Thomas Rogan – Our Local Friendly Canadian Front of House Sound Technician, and Jorge Cortina at La Marina Restaurant (at the Baja Cove) in Ensenada, Baja California Norte, Mexico.

In this episode, from the very first public performance of the newly formed quintet, DePue steps up the game with new performances… PREMIERS, even, of new arrangements from his latest album, “Modern Paganini”.

In order, within this episode of Music From The Underground (filmed in Punta Banda, Mexico at La Marina Restaurant), are the following selections:

Be Our Guest – from Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast”
Owner of a Lonely Heart – by rock legends, YES (begins DePue’s infamous viral rock-violin medley arrangement)
Hello – Lionel Richie (full version, instrumental arrangement by DePue)
Smooth Criminal – Michael Jackson (arr. A. DePue)
All I Ask of You (from The Phantom of the Opera) – featuring guest Soprano soloist, Aria Noelle Curzon
Black Magic Woman – Carlos Santana (arr. DePue)
The Devil Went Down to Georgia – Charlie Daniels Band

One of my life's most musical moments, all documented via video here from the Mainly Mozart Festival's 2020 Season, as performed with my kid brother (let's be fair, he's certainly not anything like a "kid" anymore, especially when he lights into that fiddle!), Mr. Zachary DePue. This time, Zach is literally improvising, on the spot, what one could only deem the unwritten second violin part (just as it SHOULD have been written!), and along with yours truly playing the original score for solo violin, as written by Monti... but THEN, folks, and without giving away all of our surprises (you must listen!), we have also featured here IMMENSE talent from the likes of these other alien-like creatures who are just overflowing with musicality: -Flugelhorn / trumpeter, Mr. Conrad Jones-Joshua Fobare playing the everlasting trill on that piano (lol), along with -Matt Scarano on the drums, and last, yet certainly never least, -Ranaan Meyer with some BEAUTIFUL solo work on the double bass. "Solo" on the double bass, you say?! YES! You won't even believe it! It was truly my own mad, MAD pleasure having had the opportunity in joining up with these young cats to provide a night of much-needed beauty last year, all made possible by the lovely Nancy Laturno and the beloved Mainly Mozart organization. Tonight's upload extends also the most honorable mentions going out to my beloved wife, -Aria Noelle Curzon-DePue, for her video editing skills, and also -Mrs. Katie McBride-Muzquiz, the not-so-often-heard-name, responsible for making the wheels of that Mainly Mozart bus run impeccably perfectly spinnin' round and round.Much love to ALL y'all from your Fiddler tonight! AND... AND... MORE COMING SOONLY! -AD ... See MoreSee Less
